Thematic Session on "Transport Security"
Call for Papers
Following the 9/11 and subsequent events in Spain and UK, transport systems have been the focus of increased security improvements worldwide. Terrorists disrupt vital transport services to create fear and chaos. Attacks may involve bomb blasts at local points, or with the release of chemical or biological agents, or at systems, disrupting computer controls or damaging the power or communications infrastructures. And while high technology and specialised security personnel have been mobilised and vast amounts of money have been invested, the effectiveness of these measures is still unknown. This suggests that more research is required for developing a better understanding of security in transport systems.
This special session will bring together researchers in the domain of transport security from both Europe and the US.
Topics of interest for submission may include, but are not limited to:
The Scientific Committee:
Dimitris Potoglou
(RAND Europe, UK)
Luca Zamparini (University of Salento, Italy)

Schintler (George Mason University, USA)
Joseph Szyliowicz (University of
